The other day we ate venison, salami and medallions. We tried the prosciutto of bear, deer and wild boar. The chef suggested a red wine from Vipava Kosovel wine from Crnice. Is red wine blend of melot 80% and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine is very fresh, very fruity flavor and gives you the feeling that eating grapes. Fits to the dried meat products, sausages, prosciutto , pasta and aged cheese. Year: 2010. Dry wine. ALC: 12%. Cheers.
Fine wines Quercus have been named by Dob oak (Quercus robur), a typical tree in Brda. Cabernet Sauvignon Quercus is structurally and harmonious wine, deep ruby red color of a purple hue. Varietal and delicious scent reminiscent of blackcurrant, green pepper, cedar and mint. The taste is very fruity and fresh. Year: 2008. Alc 13% vol. Cheers.
It’s been a while since I wrote about wines. So we go again with gods nectar. Toscana Rosso. Wine with protected geographical indication. Year: 2009. This reflects the character of red wine of Tuscany, warm, rich and colorful landscape. With its characteristic ruby red color, ripe fruit aroma and soft taste is visibly given to dishes of pasta, meat dishes and cheese. Serve at 17 ° C. Cheers.
Today’s patrtner for lounch was Renski rizling from Majcenovic, Kremberk, Slovenija. Year: 2009. Renski riesling, known also as the only Riesling. The beautiful and elegant wine. The smell is feeling extremely fruitiness, dominated by the scent of ripe peaches. When the wine has for some time it matures in bottle, comes to the surface also expressed note of dried apricots. Is a prime eccentric of Riesling. We were pleasantly surprised by its tenderness, freshness and beauty of line. Also detected positive for tasting fruity notes of apricots and peaches. Impressed us with exceptional harmony, freshness and a rich finish in your mouth.
I cook with wine. Sometimes I even add it to the food.

It’s been a while since a drank souch perfect wine. Wine is from France, region Languedoc Roussillion, Merlot Cabernet from J.P. CHENET Founder’s reserve, oak aged. This classic combination of grape varieties creates a balanced wine of greath lenth, which will suit any occasion and can be cellared for up to 4 years. Intense rich flavours, yet lush on the palate.Medium dark red ruby colour; aromas of black berry and spice; dry, medium bodied, with rich fruit centre and good structure.

Today we tried Lipc Beli Pinot (white pinot or Pinot blanc) from domacija Bizjak, Brestje, Goriska brda, Slovenija. It is white sort of wine. The wine is slightly yellowish green in color and has a medium to high alcohol level and the mean value of the acidity. Pinot Blanc is an elegant, gently spicy, rich in extract and harmonious.

My sisters boyfriend found one bottle in their basement. So we tried it today. It is Gaugar line, Cabernet Savuignon From village Slap in Vipavska valley, west side of Slovenija. Medium intense ruby color. The aroma is dominated fruit character (cherries, berries).Soft tannins are working in a nice balance of acid. Recommended dishes include slicesof dry meat: ham, salami, sausages, roast pork, goat in various sauces …dry wine. This is 1 bottle out of 6000. Year: 2008. Alc: 11,5%. Cheers.
We had salmon for dinner today. Like we know good fish is better with some delicious white wine, so we found Grasevina wine from Fericanci, Croatia in our celler. Year: 2008. I must say I’m very satisfied with the taste. No acid and gently pulling on sweet, very drinkable, balanced flavors of acacia. Well structured, quite harmonious body, variety is the white grape that is most widespread in the Croatian mainland and in Slavonia. I think that is east side of Croatia.
Serve at a temperature of 8-12 ° C with white meat dishes and precious freshwater fish. It is almost irreplaceable wine in every festive occasion. Alc: 12,6%. Cheers.
