I wrote about wine Teran before. So this time we tried selected Teran from village Brestovica near Komen in Slovenija. It’s heavy red wine from Carso. Year: 2009. Alc:12,18%.
Today for lunch we tried Italian wine from Veneto – Casal Borghese Cabernet. Wine is a vivid ruby red color. Visually appealing and characteristic odor, with a long aftertaste. Grassy flavor, harmonious, with hints of wild berries. Wine is a good fit to all the dishes, especially all red meat, grilled meat and matured cheese. Serve at 16 ° -18 ° C. Alc: 12%. Cheers.
The other day we ate venison, salami and medallions. We tried the prosciutto of bear, deer and wild boar. The chef suggested a red wine from Vipava Kosovel wine from Crnice. Is red wine blend of melot 80% and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine is very fresh, very fruity flavor and gives you the feeling that eating grapes. Fine wines Quercus have been named by Dob oak (Quercus robur), a typical tree in Brda. Cabernet Sauvignon Quercus is structurally and harmonious wine, deep ruby red color of a purple hue. My sisters boyfriend found one bottle in their basement. So we tried it today. It is Gaugar line, Cabernet Savuignon From village Slap in Vipavska valley, west side of Slovenija. Medium intense ruby color. The aroma is dominated fruit character (cherries, berries).Soft tannins are working in a nice balance of acid. Recommended dishes include slicesof dry meat: ham, salami, sausages, roast pork, goat in various sauces …dry wine. This is 1 bottle out of 6000. Year: 2008. Alc: 11,5%. Cheers.
We tried today for lunch wine Teran from region Karst in west Slovenia. Teran or Terrano (Slovenian and Croatian name) is a Sloveninan dark-skinned grape varietes wine produced from this grapeacquires the distinctive flavour and bouquet only when it is grown in the specific terra rossa (“Red Earth”) soil typical of a very restricted area of Kras plateau: within Slovenia and Italy, but is also widely grown on similar red soil in Western Istria. In all other cases, Teran is simply a misnomer for refosco wine. It is a rich, slightly sour, full-bodied red wine with a high latic acid content. It is very palatable, and highly prized by connoisseurs of fine wines. It is also very rich in iron, and in the past it was prescribed as a therapy for anemia.

For lunch we tried red wine Cabernet Sauvignon from city of Medana in Goriska Brda, Belica in west Slovenia, Europe. Year 2008. As we all know Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Bordeaux region and is now one of the most cultivated red wine in the world, including in Brda is common. The wine is ruby red in color, richer alcohol, having the characteristic aroma of blueberries and strawberries. This wine was harvested exclusively by hand. Age of vines is 10-35 years. Climate is mediterranean, a blend of warm sea air and the influence of cold winds from the Alps. Best served at room temperature 16-18°C. Alc: 12,5%. This Cabernet Sauvignon is recommended with pork or roast beef or mature cheeses. Cheers.
This Ruby Cabernet is a smooth Californian red wine with a delicate bouquete od wild berries. It is an excellent accompaniment to game, roasted meat and hard cheeses. Serving temperature is 16°-18°C. I love this wine with a nice fruity fresh taste and not so strong smell. Alc:13,5%. Cheers
